None of the fixes I've tried worked so far, the one that I haven't tried yet is installing W8 instead of 10. I've seen some people with very similar problems say it was fixed this way because these old laptops don't support W10 and indeed on Asus' website for this model all drivers are for w8, but I want to leave that solution for last
