>>564>>567Oblivion's weird because there are tons of things that are unquestionably improvements, and yet the game as a whole is still a huge step backwards. I'm sure I'm not the only one that gets cognitive dissonance about that.
>radiant AI and NPC schedules>traps in dungeons>interesting quests that are more than just take/kill/persuade fetch quests>buying houses>harder economy>skill perks>graphic herbalism integrated>better sneaking>no cliff racer equivalentAnd so on and so forth.

idk if it counts but binding of isaac is incredibly frustrating to me because it relies pretty heavily on rng and something like a third of the items arent all that helpful unless combined in very specific synergies. if you play it safe a single run can take like an hour and is incredibly boring but if you go balls to the wall with risk taking it is occasionally really fucking fun but i usually die a bunch because an unidentified pill turned out to be bad at the worst possible time (i dont take use them in the middle of fighting but for example a health down pill can really fuck you in later stages regardless) or i accidentally picked up that shitty dunce cap item because i had curse of the blind
i guess i could be one of those fags that just keeps resetting the first chapter until they get an op item but thats boring
still fun overall but god damn if it doesnt get tedious

No.1801
>>1790He drove away almost all the good people after Morrowind and the rest after Oblivion. It's clear that it was good in spite of his influence. Imagine if Kirkbride had been in charge of Oblivion instead.
No.1813
>>1801I don't think the problem with Oblivion is just writing alone though. Kirkbride wrote KoTN and despite the epin time travelling gay robot plotline it was basically just one giant fetch quest. Plus if C0DA is anything to go by he's probably similar to Kojimbo in that he needs a whole team of guys to limit his autism
