ITT: post broken, unbalanced or frustrating games

>Yugioh 2006 Ultimate masters for GBA

This fucking game is so horribly optimized. The first CPU opponents you fight against are literally the hardest. It is so unforgivably unfair and shitty. It's practically unplayable in the long term. There's no story, no characters and there's practically nothing to do except battle CPU bots.

You can't even play as Jaden in this game, or even talk to him and say hello or something. ==WHY THE FUCK IS HE EVEN IN THE BOX ART THEN KONAMI??? FFS==

>levelling system punishes you for using major skills by giving you less points to put into primary attributes
>enemies dynamically level up with you, turning into bullet sponges
>this is made even worse by the fact that you probably fucked up your character's stats due to the shitty levelling system
>only way to avoid this is to pick a bunch of skills you never use as majors
If you ever play this game it's basically essential to download some overhaul mod for the levelling.

I was gonna play Skyrim recently but couldn't be bothered to install the 6 gorillion mods required to make the game playable. Probably a good thing that I didn't tbh

eh I didn't mind Oblivion that much. The MQ was shitty but it had some good sidequests at least. Also the dialogue is so bad at times that it becomes funny and enjoyable

Yeah Oblivion is alright. Anything's better than skyrim

Quake 2. The game's good™ but the battery powered armor is godmode if you don't user the laser gun and I don't know anyone that didn't give up and noclip through the mines.

Oblivion's weird because there are tons of things that are unquestionably improvements, and yet the game as a whole is still a huge step backwards. I'm sure I'm not the only one that gets cognitive dissonance about that.
>radiant AI and NPC schedules
>traps in dungeons
>interesting quests that are more than just take/kill/persuade fetch quests
>buying houses
>harder economy
>skill perks
>graphic herbalism integrated
>better sneaking
>no cliff racer equivalent
And so on and so forth.

I guess it's one of those one step forward, two steps back kinda things. Maybe they just had a really good ideas guy or something.

As you can see, Todd Howard's Skyrim is a true masterpiece that gamers crave, the rest is destined for the bargain bin

I wish, if only I could be one of the most visionary creators in gaming history, perhaps the most influential figure in the creation and shaping of the RPG genre. One can only imagine the wonders he has cooked up for Starfield, coming soon on Xbox Series S, X, Xbox Game Pass and PC

idk if it counts but binding of isaac is incredibly frustrating to me because it relies pretty heavily on rng and something like a third of the items arent all that helpful unless combined in very specific synergies. if you play it safe a single run can take like an hour and is incredibly boring but if you go balls to the wall with risk taking it is occasionally really fucking fun but i usually die a bunch because an unidentified pill turned out to be bad at the worst possible time (i dont take use them in the middle of fighting but for example a health down pill can really fuck you in later stages regardless) or i accidentally picked up that shitty dunce cap item because i had curse of the blind
i guess i could be one of those fags that just keeps resetting the first chapter until they get an op item but thats boring
still fun overall but god damn if it doesnt get tedious

People talk a lot of shit about Todd but I can't help but like him for some reason. Plus he made Morrowind so he can't be all that bad

He deserved to take the L for cregaytion club and Fallout 69 but overall the industry is better off with Todd

 No.1801

He drove away almost all the good people after Morrowind and the rest after Oblivion. It's clear that it was good in spite of his influence. Imagine if Kirkbride had been in charge of Oblivion instead.

 No.1813

>>1801
I don't think the problem with Oblivion is just writing alone though. Kirkbride wrote KoTN and despite the epin time travelling gay robot plotline it was basically just one giant fetch quest. Plus if C0DA is anything to go by he's probably similar to Kojimbo in that he needs a whole team of guys to limit his autism

 No.1830

Wait till Starfield. This is clearly Todd's dream game with all his dreams and concepts. So that will probably be the best indicator of whether Todd has still got the juice

>The whole game blocked through a paywall premium membership
>No checkpoints despite having to deal with niggers everywhere, from parking lots to lightposts

>Piss poor payment rewards
<Solo fucking missions despite having fucking Story Mode right there

The big issues with GTA online is dead lobbies, mission game-over if just ONE guy dies, never any incentive to PVP in freemode, endless cheaters, constant chinese spam in the chat, and the ==FUCKING OPPRESSOR MK2 P2W BULLSHIT==
