>>187Jackie Brown is his best film by far. The acting is really f'ing incredible. Robert Forster's Max Cherry is one of the absolute best performances of the last three decades IMO. Maybe he didn't have to try very hard and is just being himself, i don't know, but he was just superb and his "Max" alone makes the film extremely rewatchable. Add to that Pam Grier's almost equally outstanding performance, and the easy chemistry between them and you have a supremely COMFY couple hours of – i'm just gonna say it –
KINOMichael Keaton's performance is also a sweet lil
cherry on top. And Bob De Niro as a lil retarded fella was a beautiful touch.
besides
Jackie, i think the only ones i would be able to withstand watching currently are Death Proof and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Death proof has cringe-inducing dialogue between the wymmens but an great aesthetic including
>HOTT cars and car scenes, great v8 sounds>Mary Eliz Winstead's smoking hot ass>rosario dawson's cubo'rican octoroon tiddies>kurt russlel being fucking awesome, great characterOUATIH is not stellar but it's enjoyable. Everything else feels so dated and especially the 90s stuff is just trying so hard to be cool; watching them kinda gives me third-hand-embarrassment, kwim?
