>>1691075A lot of its momentum and hand-eye coordination. You get physically weaker as you age but your hand-eye coordination actually improves and your endurance remains about the same (you just take longer to recover). You'll notice that the older players usually let the younger players do the more physically stressful parts of the game like the high-contact contests, and they mostly handle the technical skills (like scoring) and communicating gud with the other guys during passes.

Don't get me wrong Gretzky probably takes 45 minutes to get out of bed due to old injuries and has to put a hot compress on his knee to get walking gud, don't want to make it seem like the guy is young and spry. Same is true for most athletes over 30.

>>1691075ovechkins not the guy out there takin a zillion hits tho. hes worth too much for that.
and didnt borque play straight from age 16 till heem was lik 50+? its been done a few times. there was that other guy who came back to da NHL in his 50s to play a season w his son too, i think he has the record technically for most hospice
tbh, barring some crazy injury, ovechkins got enough to time left to make a truly unbeatable record. hes still a raly excellent player
