I tried the Neo Junk City demo and was impressed, it's a fun point-and-click. Looking at the developer's previous work I have concerns, but they've had a few years to improve their shit

not sure why they have to make the art-art look so shitty when the pixel art looks great

Been playing Blood West, I like that the game is unforgiving while not being overly hard once you realize what you are doing, but I rally hate that each new chapter turns the logic of the previous chapter on its head.
Chapter 1:
>Git gud at ambush headshots
>Confront your enemies
>Never back down
>Resources are plentiful if you use them right
Chapter 2:
>Shit will kill you and can survive headshots
>Flee like a bitch
>Rip & Tear if you encounter a mob, you will encounter lots of mobs
>Better learn to be a happy merchant if you didn't already or git gud at scavenging
Chapter 3:
>Headshots cause the enemies to be even stronger
>Rip & Tear will result in a very fast death
>Also there's nowhere to flee because all the paths are narrow so git gud at hiding again
>Resources? What are those? Hope you saved every purple potion and coin from the last two chapters lmao

That auto-reload doesn't exist and you have to remember to reload your guns between fights (including rembering after each shot to reload single-shot weapons like crossbows) is a feature that I want to hate, but I secretly love.
Hoping the DLC with based Louisiananigger is gud too

why can't they just make an actually gud star fox game? the switch would be perfect for it and all they'd need to do is tweak 64's gameplay a bit, make new levels, and maybe have similar multiplayer to assault which was the only really redeemable part of that game
or maybe a fuckin fzero game at all would be nice, it's crazy how these nips just sit on multiple franchises with potential in favor of just releasing mario zelda and metroid over and over. its a multibillion dollar company surely they can afford to do the rehashes and try other shit. not like there isn't a ridiculously dedicated nintoddler fanbase that guarantees profit

idk, from my experience they both fuck up a lot but it tends to be more catastrophic in Linux. Lik in Windows it's usually just a matter of updating some driver or at worst using a restore point, while in Linux I end up having to reinstall the whole OS at times. But to be fair the Linux PC in question is a 20 year old Mac Mini that I use as a media box so mite be more of a hardware thing.

Every time I've installed Linux (admittedly not that many times tbh) the first thing I've had to do was replace the shitty freetard display drivers with the proprietary Nvidia ones that actually work. Also had a lot of trouble with their wifi drivers too. idk if this stuff has been fixed within the past few years tho.

i forgot how bad the wifi clusterfuck used to be, but no that's something that seems to just werk automatically now or at least with the handful of distros i've tried. that was actually one of the reasons i didn't get into linux a long while back, i attempted to install i think ubuntu or some other distro on my laptop that i was told was wangblows user friendly only to have the wifi absolutely refuse to work no matter what i tried. also at the time getting games that didn't have a version specifically dedicated to linux to run was either a nightmare or outright impossible for a newbie. now any retard me included can just stumble their way through something like mint

 No.8520>>8521>>8524

idk i have ayymd and shit has just werked stock for like 10 years now
but i read even if u go thru the fuckery to get the proprietary nvidia drivers working ur still losing like 20% performance compared to windows and wayland support is still fucked

either way tho ubuntu is really really really dogshit now and theres not really any good noob distros if ur sub-115 and cant read
steamos is supposedly coming soon to normal pcs so maybe that will actually be good mebbe wait for that if u want to try to get away from windows

 No.8521>>8523

>>8520
>ur still losing like 20% performance compared to windows
Oh yeah I'm aware, it's almost definitely an intentional decision made by the (((shareholders))) too. If I do make the switch I'll prolly just get some basic distro for web browsing and keep Windows around just for gaymen. Could also stick with just Windows because security updates are a meme anyway but you'd eventually lose software support that way. I still see dudes on forums crying that devs don't support Windows 7 anymore lol. What's wrong with Ubuntu anyway? In the past I've found it mostly usable, tho also kinda bloated.

 No.8523>>8530

>>8521
>What's wrong with Ubuntu anyway
basically anything that differentiates it from any other distro
>snaps
>fixed point releases on a desktop os in 2k25
>out of date software in default repos
>prompted to upgrade to "ubuntu pro" every time you update packages
>uses gnome
>uses some special modified version of gnome that breaks in weird ways
>now they are trying to replace coreutils with their own version rewritten in rust
the main problem is that canonical tries to invent their own unique solutions to problems that have already been solved by better programmers

 No.8524

apples to oranges but I wonder how much of that performance loss is compensated for by the absence of bloatware overhead slowing down the system overall

it's probably because you didn't install the proprietary firmware needed for the wifi card, same goes for my laptop and AMD GPUs, both refuse to work without it. small price to pay.
i think linux on the desktop first became competent with kde 5 when they made the ui usable and not fugly, still lots of shenanigans i have to put up with and i still have a windows pc just so i can play group fort 2 and btfo third worlders but i'm happy i switched.

it's been several years, maybe close to a decade so i cant memeber completely but i'm vary sure i installed all of the proper shit. like i went and read up on a tone of shit and still couldn't get it to work, maybe back then hp laptop hardware was just extra difficult for linux users idk. shit werks mostly fine whenever i try new distros nowadays tho, most of my issues seem to come from not updating for too long but even then it's nbd.
still can't figure out the monitor blanking out tho, but i was gonna buy a newer one soon anyway this thing is like 12 years old

>The Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for release on June 5, 2025, with a base price of $449, or $499 bundled with Mario Kart. Pre-orders start on April 9. The console's launch is accompanied by 'Mario Kart World', which introduces new gameplay features like dynamic weather and a free roam mode, but has stirred controversy due to its pricing. Digital editions of games like 'Mario Kart World' are set at $80, while physical copies are priced at $90, leading to widespread criticism among gamers and industry observers.

Zelda BOTW was a Wii U game that somehow became the best Nintendo Switch game because of marketing and killing off the wii u. Same thing with. Zelda twilight princess on gamecube/wii. Problem is, more people have a switch than they did a wii u or gamecube so you gotta wonder how many will jump to a switch 2 only to play these games.
